This might be a slightly controversial pick at No. 2 in the country heading into the 2022 season, especially since Dabo Swinney just had a disappointing 10-3 season which concluded with a Cheez-It Bowl win. For a program that had finished in the top five in the previous six seasons, that’s not good enough.

But that last stat is exactly why Swinney is my No. 2 coach in college football. He has led the Tigers to top-five finishes in the AP Poll in six of the past seven seasons and Clemson has finished ranked in the top 20 in 10 straight years. That’s unreal.

Heading into the 2022 season, Swinney’s team is expected to sit atop the ACC once again and win the crown for the seventh time in the past eight years. The ACC has really just been Clemson and then everyone else.

Swinney has two national titles (which is why I have him ahead of Kirby Smart), nine division titles, seven ACC titles, and a ton of personal hardware.
