Arizona State football: 3 candidates who could replace Herm Edwards
1. Jay Norvell, Colorado State HC
Arizona State could go back to a familiar face here. Jay Norvell was an assistant for the Sun Devils back in 2016 when he was the passing game coordinator and receivers coach.
Although he’s from Wisconsin and played at Iowa, he has made the move out west over the past few years. He spent time at UCLA back in 2007 after some time in Big Ten country with Nebraska but he has been out in Arizona with the Arizona State Sun Devils and then he took over as Nevada head coach.
Norvell became one of the top Group of Five head coaches after leading the Wolf Pack to a 33-26 record over five years. He was hired as Colorado State’s next head coach which felt like a lateral move, but Arizona State could probably poach him with ease.
Norvell is a brilliant offensive mind and that’s interesting considering he played linebacker and defensive back at Iowa and in the NFL.
The Sun Devils could make the move to bring him back to Tempe to replace Herm Edwards.
