1 bold prediction for every Top 25 college football team in Week 5
5. Clemson: DJ Uiagalelei throws for 300, leads Tigers past NC State
Talk about a bounce-back season, DJ Uiagalelei has been fantastic this year after being criticized heavily for a tough 2021 campaign. He has over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns to just one pick and he’s going to continue that dominance against a top-10 NC State team. He’ll throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Tigers past the Wolfpack for a second straight ranked win.
4. Michigan: Wolverines will be on upset alert
Do I think Michigan is better than Iowa? No doubt. Do I think Iowa is a bad team? Well, they’re not great offensively. But based on what we saw from the Wolverines against the first team with a pulse they’ve faced this season (Maryland) last week, I think Iowa has a real shot here at home. Kinnick will be rocking and weird stuff always seems to happen here. Michigan is going to escape an upset, but this will be decided by one score.
3. Ohio State: Buckeyes score 50 again
Ohio State has scored 50-plus points in two straight games against Toledo and Wisconsin and that’ll become three on Saturday against Rutgers. It’s tough to score 40 against conference foes in college football but the Buckeyes will put up 50 in back-to-back games against Big Ten opponents. This offense is getting hot at the right time.
2. Alabama: Jahmyr Gibbs has breakout game
Earlier I predicted that KJ Jefferson would out-duel Bryce Young and because of that, I believe it’ll be up to other guys to lead the Tide past the Razorbacks. Arkansas will be looking to stop Young and they’ll forget about offensive weapons like Jahmyr Gibbs. I think he’ll finally have a breakout game, rushing for 100 yards and catching five passes for at least another 50. He’ll score three times.
1. Georgia: Bulldogs secure a rare road shutout
The Eli Drinkwitz era in Missouri is in danger of coming to an end and it might just happen sooner than later as the Bulldogs are going to go into Columbia and pull off the rare road shutout. The Bulldog defense is mad after last week’s performance against Kent State and Missouri will be the victim of all that caged anger. Georgia covers and wins in the range of 38-0.
