Sugar Bowl

LSU v TCU

Previous: Tennessee v TCU

Tennessee fails in their final big test, but is rewarded? Stay tuned…

In the meantime, welcome home to the Sugar Bowl, Brian Kelly, and LSU. After one of the biggest wins of his career against Nick Saban, Kelly has won over the skeptics about him being the right man to lead LSU. Make no mistake, Kelly is one of the ten best coaches in all of college football. If he gets time in Baton Rouge, they will become a threat to Bama and Georgia for national supremacy when he gets those high-level recruits in his system.

With a lead in the SEC West, we’re projecting the Tigers to lose to Georgia in Atlanta, but still, be the top selection to represent the SEC in the Sugar Bowl. With the way Jayden Daniels is playing, they may be able to compete with the defending champs, but for now, an SEC West championship and a local NY6 bowl is an incredible achievement in year 1 of the Brian Kelly era.

I was not loved by Tennessee fans for not putting them in the CFP during the last few weeks, and now it is TCU’s turn. TCU was the big winner in the playoff ranking reveal, coming in at #4. A great achievement for head coach Sonny Dykes, as TCU continues to do just enough to win these past four weeks.

I expect this run to come to an end on Saturday when the Frogs travel to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns for College GameDay. Consider this game a playoff eliminator for TCU as well as a potential Big 12 Championship preview.

I have the Longhorns winning, but TCU getting revenge in the conference championship, earning a trip to New Orleans.
