Pac-12 Power Rankings: The race for the title game is still close
By Dante Pryor
8. Arizona State Sun Devils (3-6, 2-4)
The Sun Devils have shown life this last month, going 2-2 after a four-game losing streak. Interim head coach Shaun Aguano might not make the short list of candidates for the head coaching job. Still, he should get an interview and have a legitimate opportunity to stay on the next regime’s staff in some capacity with the job he’s done under not-so-great circumstances.
7. Washington State Cougars (5-4, 2-4)
The Cougars found themselves back in the win column after a three-game losing streak after blowing out Stanford 52-14. Nakia Watson had his best game as a Cougar, running for 166 yards. Wazzu finds themselves in a good position to win seven games and finish .500 in the conference, with games against Arizona and Stanford left on the schedule.
6. Oregon State Beavers (6-3, 3-3)
The Beavers lost a close game to the Washington Huskies on Friday night, falling on a late field goal. Oregon State is playing better. The most important thing they are doing is cutting down on turnovers. It stands to reason that they would be much better if JT Daniels had chosen them instead of West Virginia. Daniels would also be going to a bowl game as well.
5. Washington Huskies (7-2, 4-2)
The Huskies have had quite the rebirth under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer. Michael Penix, Jr. (who DeBoer coached while offensive coordinator at Indiana) has experienced a renaissance all his own. The Huskies have a tough test against #6 Oregon, looking to keep their Pac-12 title hopes alive this weekend.
