Pac-12 Power Rankings: #6 Oregon and #12 UCLA both fall
By Dante Pryor
4. #12 Oregon Ducks (8-2, 6-1)
The Ducks, like the Bruins, are also out of the Playoff picture. However, Oregon had better not let Washington beat them twice. Their game against the #10 Utah Utes is for a trip to Las Vegas and the Pac-12 title game. Head coach Dan Lanning must ensure his team understands that all is not lost. This game should be a good one. Bo Nix vs. Cam Rising? Yes, please!
3. #10 Utah Utes (8-2, 6-1)
The Utes find themselves in the driver’s seat to play in the Pac-12 Championship game, possibly against USC or Oregon in Vegas. Utah has won five straight games after its loss to UCLA. Their game against Oregon this weekend will determine whether or not they play for the conference title again this year.
2. #15 Washington Huskies (8-2, 5-2)
Big Penix Energy is not just a saying in Seattle; it is a lifestyle. Seriously, Michael Penix has to garner some post-season award consideration for the season he’s having. Penix was spectacular in Washington’s 37-34 upset win against Oregon. The Indiana transfer threw for 408 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Huskies need help, but they have an outside chance at Vegas if they win.
1. #7 USC Trojans (9-1, 7-1)
The Trojans control their road to Las Vegas. If they defeat UCLA, they will be in the title game. The only thing the Trojans would have to wait for is to see who they play. A rematch against Utah or a grudge match against Oregon awaits Traveler and his Trojans. Either way, Lincoln Riley has the Trojans rolling this season and that’s why they are on top of our Pac-12 Power Rankings.
