There’s going to be a ton of debate about what to do with Alabama, Ohio State, and Tennessee this week. Will the committee favor a one-loss Ohio State team that just lost by 22 points at home against Michigan or a two-loss Alabama team that ended the year strong and whose two losses came against top-10 teams by a total of four points?

If the committee keeps Ohio State above Alabama, will they value the Tennessee Volunteers a spot higher than the Tide? That’s also an option since the Volunteers did beat Alabama earlier this year.

But you have to wonder if the absence of Hendon Hooker changes things. It likely does.

I do think the Tide still have a shot at the playoff, but they’ll have to hope for TCU and USC losses in their respective conference title games. That’s a lot to ask for, but the No. 6 Tide have to be happy about what transpired in the top 10 this week after beating Auburn handily.
