Winner: Nebraska

The Huskers didn’t make a ton of headlines on Early National Signing Day but they won three recruitments and one of them was for Malachi Coleman, a top-100 recruit and No. 1 player in the state.

Nebraska was ranked in the 60s when Matt Rhule took over the job and after landing Coleman, three-star Eric Fields, and three-star Vincent Carroll-Jackson on Wednesday, the Huskers are ranked fifth in the Big Ten, 28th overall, and first in the Big Ten West.

Coach Prime hosted Coleman at Colorado last weekend and even got a crystal ball before Rhule was able to turn it around and that’s why Nebraska is considered a winner in my book.

Winner: Auburn

Like the Huskers, Auburn was ranked around 60th in the 2023 college football recruiting rankings not long ago and made a dramatic move all the way to 19th overall in the 247 sports team rankings.

That effort was helped by some huge additions on Early National Signing Day. The Tigers flipped four-star cornerback Kayin Lee from Ohio State and also flipped Keldric Faulk from Florida State.

People might not like Hugh Freeze but he’s a really good coach. He won at Ole Miss and he’s going to win at Auburn. Probably sooner than some people expect.
