Season Overview: It’s hard not to look at what the Wildcats did this season and not wonder how different the season would have been if they had not lost to Tulane. That said, the Green Wave are really good; they are playing in a New Year’s Day Bowl. Head coach Chris Klieman did an outstanding job using Adrian Martinez and Will Howard. The defense was impressive, especially against the pass.
2023 Outlook: Kansas does not produce a lot of Power 5 level football players, but Klieman and the Wildcats procured four of the top 10 players in the state, including a top-100 player in quarterback Avery Johnson. From who they went after in the portal and what they’ve recruited, Kansas State does not want this to be a one-time deal as they look to get more explosive offensively.
