Season Overview: 2022 was the third losing season in four years under Neil Brown. West Virginia seems to be stuck in neutral. JT Daniels came in and played mediocre football, and he was benched by the season’s end. There was nothing dynamic about this football team at any point this season; their record reflects this fact.
2023 Outlook: It is hard to see the last four seasons and not think that Neil Brown won’t be coaching for his job in 2023. The West Virginia job is hard. There are no recruits in the state, and they aren’t close to any conference rivals. Daniels has moved on to Rice, and the Mountaineers look to begin the Nicco Marichol era in Morgantown.
