Predictions for College Football Playoff and New Years Six bowl games
Peach Bowl: No. 4 Ohio State vs No. 1 Georgia (-6) (Dec. 31, 8 PM EST, ESPN)
College football fans and pundits continue to doubt Stetson Bennett and he just continues to play really well and win game after game.
The Bulldogs are the defending national champions and have followed it up by winning the SEC championship.
Yet, my guess is that the Dawgs are motivated to repeat as champs and win both titles in the same year which is the one thing Kirby Smart hasn’t done, along with going undefeated through the entire season and College Football Playoff.
Ohio State is a dangerous opponent though. C.J. Stroud and Marvin Harrison Jr. lead one of the most explosive offenses in college football. At the same time though, Ohio State’s defense showed its vulnerability against Michigan.
Georgia averages 494 yards per game as well as 39 points. Bennett has thrown 20 touchdown passes and six picks but completes 67 percent of his throws. He can run too when needed and has the best tight end in the country in Brock Bowers to throw to.
UGA is also dominant on the ground. It had three different running backs average over five yards per attempt this season and as a team, the Dawgs average 5.5 per rush (205 yards per game).
The defense allows 0.8 touchdown passes per game and had no issue hemming in Hendon Hooker and Tennessee when that was the best offense in the country.
Stroud and the Buckeyes will make some plays and be more competitive than Michigan was a year ago. This isn’t the same UGA defense but the offensive line is every bit as good as Michigan’s and the Georgia offense will dominate the game and time of possession.
Georgia 38, Ohio State 24
