1. Washington football isn’t going anywhere

Before the season, I would have given Kalen DeBoer 3-4 seasons to really turn things around in Washington. The Huskies were just coming off a forgettable bowl-less season and the offense was one of the worst in the country. For an offensive mind, he would have to get his guys in place before a true turnaround could take place, right?

Wrong.

In just one season, DeBoer became one of the top coaches in the country and led Washington to an 11-2 season which concluded with an Alamo Bowl win over No. 20 Texas. The Huskies proved to the nation time and time again that they belonged.

Washington was one upset loss against Arizona State away from making a New Year’s Six game or even playing in the playoff, but there’s room for growth. And this program is rising.

DeBoer has Michael Penix Jr. coming back next season along with a host of top offensive talent, an improving defense, and a coaching staff that knows what it’s doing.

Washington isn’t going anywhere any time soon, and most of us realized that on Thursday night.
