There has been no shortage of good defensive line additions for the Aggies over the past couple of years and Shemar Stewart is no exception.

As a true freshman, Stewart played in all 12 games and finished with a solid 23 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He was solid in his first year with the Aggies, but I think he’s on the verge of becoming an absolute star in College Station.

Fadil Diggs is projected to be the starter at defensive end ahead of Stewart this season after finishing with 28 total tackles as a sophomore. But I wouldn’t be completely shocked if Stewart overtook the upperclassman and earned the starting job.

There’s a reason Stewart was so highly rated out of high school as the No. 9 overall recruit in the 2022 class as a five-star, and it’s because he’s a physical specimen and he might just be the most talented defensive lineman that Texas A&M has.
