Kirby Smart is building a juggernaut

Kirby Smart is basically the king of college football right now. Georgia football has won the last two national championships and many are pegging them as the favorite to win three in a row.

Beyond that, the Bulldogs are recruiting at an elite level. Michigan has the top-ranked class right now according to 247 Sports team rankings for 2024, but that probably isn’t going to hold, just like it didn’t for Notre Dame at this time.

With Dylan Raiola on board, some other big-time recruits should follow. Ryan Wingo is a five-star receiver to watch, along with four-star tight end Carter Nelson from Nebraska. He’s a top-10 tight end and probably better than his ranking.

He is also visiting Georgia the same weekend as Raiola on June 2nd. The Bulldogs could end their run of misses on tight end with Nelson and they should be able to add some big-time wide receivers too with an elite quarterback now in the fold.

There is still a heated competition for the job leading into the 2023 season, but after Raiola gets on campus, it probably won’t be long before he’s the guy.
