2023 Big Ten football power rankings after Week 6
3. Penn State (5-0, 2-0)
You can make a strong argument that Penn State is the second-best Big Ten football team out there. Heck, the Nittany Lions could be No. 1 when it’s all said and done. Penn State has elite running backs, and a defense allowing just 9.6 points per game, which is second behind Michigan. Drew Allar has nine touchdown passes and zero interceptions. UMass is the opponent this weekend, but Ohio State is up next and that’s when we’ll find out how good Penn State really is.
2. Ohio State (5-0, 2-0)
Ohio State didn’t look great against Maryland but still won the game by 20 points. The Terps are a good team which is why the Buckeyes are holding firm at No. 2. Purdue has been a thorn in Ohio State’s side before. I feel like it could be a tight game, but Ohio State and Penn State should be undefeated going into next weekend’s showdown.
1. Michigan (6-0, 3-0)
Michigan has been dominant the past two weeks. After blowing out Nebraska, the Wolverines thumped Minnesota by 42 points. The Gophers didn’t complete a single pass in the second half. Michigan also had more interception return yardage than Minnesota has total passing yards. J.J. McCarthy is a superstar and looks to be in complete control. Indiana awaits on Saturday.
