Big 12 Football Power Rankings After Week 7
By Erika Brown
3. Iowa State (4-3, 3-1 conference)
Iowa State went into Cincinnati and handled the Bearcats, winning the game 30-10. The defense stepped up and got 2 interceptions, and also kept Cincinnati to just 99 receiving yards and 115 rushing yards. The Cyclones have a bye week this week before facing Baylor in Waco in Week 9.
2. Texas (5-1, 3-1 conference)
Texas had a well-deserved bye week after their showdown in Dallas with Oklahoma. Their remaing schedule looks strong for the Longhorns. Currently, they are a three-headed monster with quarterback Quinn Ewers, running back Jonathon Brooks, and wide receiver Xavier Worthy. They account for 2,883 yards combined, and 20 total touchdowns. The Longhorns look to stay dominant as they have all season when they take on a struggling Houston team in Houston this week.
1. Oklahoma (6-0, 3-0 conference)
The only undefeated Big 12 football, as well as the number 6 team overall in the country. OU is still in playoff talks and contention, and quarterback Dillon Gabriel should be in the Heisman running, with 16 total touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. The offense should have an easier time after their bye week when they face UCF at home.
