Big Ten Football Power Rankings after Week 7
3. Penn State (6-0, 3-0)
Big Ten football fans will find out if Penn State is for real this week as the seventh-ranked Nittany Lions travel to third-ranked Ohio State. Both teams are 6-0, although Ohio State has beaten Notre Dame. Penn State has also beaten Iowa and West Virginia. But beating the Buckeyes is an entirely different thing. Penn State hasn’t done it since 2016 and James Franklin has never won in the Horseshoe and a win Saturday would be the first since 2011.
2. Ohio State (6-0, 3-0)
Kyle McCord had a solid game last week with 276 yards and three touchdown passes. The Buckeyes also ran for 152 yards, notched three sacks and two turnovers. Ohio State has had trouble at Purdue before, so it had to be good for Buckeye fans to see their team roll ahead of Penn State this week.
1. Michigan (7-0, 4-0)
The Wolverines fell behind 7-0 against Indiana, then scored the last 52 points. J.J. McCarthy threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns, while the defense forced four turnovers. Michigan State is the opponent this week. It could be a trap game for the Wolverines but in four Big Ten football games, the Wolverines have outscored their opponents 180-31.
