No. 4: Jeff Brohm, #18 Louisville Cardinals

Jeff Brohm in year 1 as the Louisville Cardinals head coach has led them to one of their best wins in years, even if he had a hiccup along the way.

Brohm led the Cardinals to 6-0 and had a fantastic transfer class coming in to make this team a force to be reckoned with in the ACC. However, after beating #10 Notre Dame, Louisville lost 21-38 to Pitt, in what was an incredibly embarrassing loss for the Cardinals.

Brohm led Louisville to their best start in 10 years, and if it wasn’t for a hangover game, he might have been even higher on this ranking. Brohm proved he will be one of the best coaches in the conference for the coming future in his first 7 games in Louisville.

Hopefully, he can maintain that in the final 5 games of the season.

No. 3: Mack Brown, #17 North Carolina Tar Heels

Mack Brown has been coaching college football for a long time and is one of the 5 FBS coaches with a national championship on his hands. While Brown in the last 2 seasons with North Carolina has been very good, he has had some bizarre losses and coaching decisions in games.

UNC lost to Georgia Tech at home late in the season last year to kick them out of the CFB playoff conversation. The same thing happened last week against a 1-5 Virginia team and Brown cannot allow these things to happen for UNC.

Brown can lead UNC to the ACC championship game this season, just like he did a year ago, but he has to limit or stop these losses to bad teams down the stretch. If he does stop these weird losses then Brown is probably the best coach in the conference.

Brown is a great all-time football coach, but he needs to get his teams better ready to play to slide into the top 2.
