People need to remember that the AP Top 25 and the playoff rankings have nothing to do with each other. So the committee may just rank a team like Louisville in the top 10 this week after handling yet another ranked opponent. The Cardinals beat Notre Dame handily earlier this season and then smacked Duke around for four quarters on Saturday.

Even with Riley Leonard back under center for Duke, Louisville completely shut down the Blue Devils’ offense to the tune of a 23-0 shutout.

Do I think the dominant win will be enough to vault a 7-1 Louisville team into the top 10? I’m going to say yet and it shouldn’t even be a hot take. Jeff Brohm has done a fantastic job with this program in less than a year, turning the Cardinals into playoff contenders.

This team continues to shatter expectations.
