Does Penn State deserve a spot in the top 10 this week? It’s hard to say after watching that performance against Indiana in Happy Valley, but I don’t think the committee will penalize the Nittany Lions too much.

Actually, I don’t think they get penalized at all.

I was somewhat shocked at how uninspired the Nittany Lions looked in a confidence-building game against Indiana after losing to Ohio State a week ago in a tight battle. Was there a bit of a hangover from that emotional loss to the Buckeyes? It sure seemed like it.

This usually-stout defense gave up 24 points and about 350 total yards to one of the worst offenses in the Big Ten.

Drew Allar had 210 passing yards and three touchdowns, but the run game didn’t help him a ton, averaging just 3.1 yards per touch. Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton combined for 131 yards on 33 carries.

This team needs to get back on track with an important stretch approaching.
