National Signing Day Wrap-Up: Big 12

The ongoing legal battle between the Big East and West Virginia could prevent the Mountaineers from playing their inaugural Big 12 campaign. Will the Big 12 be a nine-team or 10-team league in 2012? That’s the great mystery of this off-season, but one certainty the league with the most top 25 teams in 2011 boasts is an impressive National Signing Day haul. Seven of the 10 hypothetical members ranked in Rivals.com’s Top 50 signing classes. Among the seven are newcomers West Virginia and TCU.

Mack Brown signed one of the nation’s most impressive classes, continuing the process of returning the Longhorns to their past (and very recent) greatness. But not far behind was Oklahoma, which could gain on UT’s group should staff re-additions Mike Stoops and Tim Kush massage their Arizona connections enough to land talented wideout Davonte Neal.
