Arizona football unveiled new uniforms for the 2013 season on Monday. While UA’s helmets remain relatively similar to those worn in recent years, the alterations to the jerseys are pretty significant.

The gradients on the numbers are reminiscent of the look Boise State debuted with its black uniforms a season ago. The ARIZONA print across the chest is another new feature, as are the colored sleeves.

UA made several notable changes to its wardrobe a season ago that remain in tact, including red and copper helmets. Each was worn for just one regular season game as secondary options to the usual white and navy blue.

Wonder if the new NCAA rule that mandates distinct color variations between jersey and numeral play into that gradient being changed? Looks fine on the white jersey, but when the blue bleeds into the blue jersey, could be hard to read.

Yeah, interesting question. It’s a good thing such a useful rule is in place!
