Oklahoma will likely be without standout LB Corey Nelson for the remainder of the season, coach Bob Stoops announced Sunday.

Nelson suffered a pectoral injury Saturday during Oklahoma’s 20-17 win over TCU. He will undergo surgery on Tuesday.

The injury means the Sooners must reshuffle a defensive lineup that has carried them to a 5-0 start.

Nelson was one of the better players on the unit, recording 27 tackles and a sack. He also returned an INT for a touchdown in the victory at Notre Dame.

Oklahoma faces Texas this week at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
