Texas A&M Recruit Hoza Scott Takes Community College Route

While top recruits all around the country enjoy their moment in the sun as they don the cap of their favored team, Hoza Scott reminds  us that there is another side to college football that is often forgotten at times like this – academics.

Scott is one of the top linebackers in the country and ranked 82nd on the ESPN 300 list. The La Porte High School (Texas) product had been recruited by Texas A&M, who saw him as a key piece in building a defense that often left the offense in a must-score situation.

It wasn’t meant to be as, as Scott struggled with academics, and will enrol with Blinn Community College while he gets his affairs in order. Scott was also suspended for a game for an unspecified incident, but has stated he has put said incident behind him.

Scott could do worse than the Buccaneers, who have won the JUCO national title 4 times, and have sent a number of players to the NFL ranks, including current Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
