Poll: Which Team Will Win The National Championship

This weekend represents the last one without college football for the rest of the year, which means it is time to start thinking about the end of the season.

College football will unveil their brand new system for naming a champion this year with a four-team playoff in January. There are plenty of teams deserving of the early season honors of ‘preseason favorite’ to win the title, including last year’s champion Florida State. Here are a few of them.

OHIO STATE

The loss of Braxton Miller for the season is a killer to the Buckeyes title hopes but in a weak Big Ten it may not matter too much. Ohio State is returning eight starters on defense, which should be one of the best in the country. Aside from a road matchup against Michigan State and the home finale against Michigan, the Buckeyes schedule sets up pretty well for them to run the table.

OREGON

College football’s best player, Marcus Mariota, leads the nation’s most fearsome offense. The Ducks return nine starters on offense so they should be able to hit the ground running, which may be necessary to get out of the very difficult PAC 12.

FLORIDA STATE

The team with the ring returns their Heisman Trophy winning quarterback and a bunch of players from last year’s title team. In the weak ACC they have a clear path to the final four.

Those are three teams with a great shot to win it, and that’s without naming a single SEC or Big 12 team. So who do you think will win the title this year?
