Saturday Blitz Big Ten Power Rankings

Who’s the least bad team in the Big Ten? That is the question facing analysts of the conference right now after such a bad weekend on college football’s biggest stage.

It’s a little unfair because the Big Ten was the only conference willing to play power teams from other conferences this past weekend, but you would think that somebody would have had a decent showing. Instead, there was not one bright spot.

Not only did the three teams with the biggest games all lose in Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State, but plenty of other teams looked awful as they played. And the bottom teams lost to mid-majors.

So how do we sort out which teams are the best in a conference where nobody appeared to deserve the title Monday? The worst teams in the conference are easy to find, fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it.

But the top of the conference has looked so bad it’s hard to sort out who the actual best team is right now. There’s still a long season to play this year, and Big Ten fans don’t need to panic about the situation.

For right now, though, we had to do a lot of nitpicking to find the best team. So here are the Saturday Blitz Big Ten Power Rankings for Week 2 of the college football season.
