What a Saturday! We had all circled the first weekend in October because we knew we had some of the best match-ups throughout all of college football that weekend. That was especially true in the SEC.

But despite all of the great match-ups, who saw this coming? Upset Saturday was put on steroids, with eight Top 25 teams losing to lower ranked teams, and five Top 25 teams lost to unranked teams. Five of the Top 8 teams in the AP Poll lost as well, the first time since the AP Poll began in 1936 that happened. And That doesn’t even include the upsets among unranked teams, including Purdue beating Illinois and Kentucky beating South Carolina.

It was just an insane weekend when you had no time to catch your breath. As one upset was done, another was in the process of happening. This is why we don’t want too much of a college football playoff. Four teams is enough, and it allows for crazy games like Saturday to still happen.

And this is only the first weekend with such great conference slates. We have the rest of the year to have games like this, especially in the SEC West, so the upsets are far from over.

But this past weekend brought us a collection of upsets that nobody could have all seen coming at once. It kept all of us up until the very end watching crazy finishes, and in some cases shocking blowouts.

It was likely the craziest Saturday in college football history, starting with the fact that Katy Perry had a better record in games picked than Lee Corso.

So in honor of this weekend, we have decided to rank the college football upsets from the weekend. It’s rare when you see this many surprising upsets in one weekend, and it was enough to last a full season.

As we all calm down and get ready for NFL season, here is our ranking of the eight Week 6 upsets among Top 25 teams based on shock value.
