Although the Tennessee Volunteers dropped their third game of the season on Saturday, they continue to win on the recruiting trail.
On Friday morning, they landed a commitment from 4-Star conrerback Micah Abernathy.
“I’m happy and blessed to say I have officially committed to the University of Tennessee! I can’t wait for the next 4 years,” Abernathy said via twitter.
The 6’1, 187-pounder is from Norcross, Georgia and attends the Greater Atlanta Christian School. He previously officially visited the Oregon Ducks and Georgia Bulldogs before taking his official to Tennessee over the weekend.
“After my three officials, we sat down and talked about it on Monday,” said Abernathy via Ryan Callahan of 24/7 Sports. “We talked about it a little bit Wednesday and a little bit Thursday, and then I decided I’m going to be a Vol.”
Micah Abernathy, the country’s 21st-ranked cornerback and 182nd-ranked overall prospect, also holds offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes and Alabama Crimson Tide.
He is the Vols’ 26th commitment and their class now ranks third nationally.
