N.C. State and Boston College both need this win to have a chance at a bowl. Dave Doeren’s second team looks a heck of a lot better than his first team, but they looked awful last week. The defense has got to play better against a dominant Boston College rushing attack. Jacoby Brissett has to be as good as he has been and play a lot better than he did last Saturday against Clemson, but Doeren needs to focus on running the ball with Shadrach Thornton and Matt Dayes.

Boston College simply needs to do what it does under Steve Addazio. This dominant rushing attack needs to keep Clemson off the field as much as possible, and quarterback  Tyler Murphy needs to do a better job of making efficient passes. His running is fine, but if he can’t compete crucial passes, this team will fall to 3-3 and likely stay home during bowl season. To avoid that, the offense absolutely has to have some balance. If that happens, they can move to 4-2 on the year.
