It wasn’t as crazy as last week, but Saturday still brought us quite a few great games, and the result of that was quite a few unsung heroes.

We say the quarterback gets all the credit when a team wins and all the blame when a team loses. Well, this weekend, we only have to quarterbacks on our list of college football top performers from the weekend. Players, particularly on defense, stepped up big time and made lots of nice plays. Many of them directly changed the outcome of games, and you always have to love those guys who step up in the biggest moments and lead their teams to victory.

  • This weekend, our list of blitz points winners includes two quarterbacks, two running backs, a wide receiver, a head coach, an assistant coach, and three defensive players. We like to show that anybody can be deserving of Blitz Points, not just quarterbacks and to a lesser degree running backs. That being said, there are a couple players whom we just couldn’t leave off the list at those positions, and one might as well by a house in Blitz Points Ville, USA, because he’s always on it.

There’s no denying that new people keep stepping up each week for some of the elite teams in college football, making the first college football playoff season crazier than ever. And it’s only getting more exciting with each week. The Heisman race is still not being trimmed down because of the fact that so many people keep stepping up and performing. But this is something to appreciate about the sport.

So with a surprising new group of starts after this week, enjoy our list as we get set to bring you players deserving of recognition they rarely ever get. Here are our 10 college football top performers and Blitz Points Winners from week 7.
