The Ohio State Buckeyes enjoyed a bye week over the weekend and used that to do some catching up on the recruiting trail.

However, the Buckeyes didn’t have to go far to land their latest commitment. 4-Star wide receiver Alex Stump, of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio flipped his commitment from the Kentucky Wildcats to Ohio State.

“I am flipping my commitment from Kentucky to THE Ohio State University,” Stump said via twitter. “It has always been my dream to stay home and play for the Buckeyes. This was a very tough decision. I want to thank the University of Kentucky and all of the #BBN. I wish nothing but the best for the program.”

Alex Stump is ranked as the country’s 38th-best wide receiver prospect, the 15th-best overall prospect from the state of Ohio and the 310th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports composite rankings. Stump chose Ohio State over offers from Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Miami Hurricanes, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Stanford Cardinal and West Virginia Mountaineers, among others.

Alex Stump committed to Kentucky back in May but Ohio State made him an offer during his visit on the weekend of September 21.

He is the 17th commitment for Ohio State in their 2015 class, which ranks 14th nationally and second in the Big 10.
