The 2014 season, it’s finally here. For years, fans of  College Football have been looking for a more efficient way to crown the champion of College Football and it looks like this dilemma has been remedied with the College Football Playoff. The previous BCS system was the focal point of a lot of controversy over the past couple years.

The College Football Playoff will employ a new method of selection. Instead of a computer ranking system, a selection committee comprised of thirteen “experts” will select the top four teams in College Football to play in a playoff. Personally, I think the playoff system should be expanded to sixteen teams but this is a start. With that, we have decided to bring you our mid-season College Football Playoff Predictions.

More from Auburn Tigers

Keep in mind that these are not our College Football Playoff Projections. Those are blindly based on rankings and how the schedules are set to play out. As predictions, these are the teams we reasonably think will be there at the end based on how well they have played so far throughout the year. That factors in how the teams are playing, what their record is, how we think each team’s schedule will play out, and who we genuinely believe are the best teams in college football right now.

In short, The projections are strictly based on math and rankings. The predictions are based on analysis. Let’s take a look at which four teams the experts will be picking come December.
