We’re through three quarters of the season and the hierarchy of the Pac-12 is coming into focus. Oregon is in the CFB top 4, Arizona State looks scary for Notre Dame this weekend, and it looks like UCLA may not be that bad after all.

We are getting ready to bring you our Week 10 Pac-12 Power Rankings, and as we had known all year, this is clearly a deep conference with lots of great teams. All 12 at one point had legitimate reason to believe they would reach a bowl game, 10 of the 12 probably could have made a case to be in the Top 25 at one point, eight of them had a legitimate shot at the Pac-12 title at one point, and at least six of them could have been thinking about the College Football Playoff.

  • Even now, there are still two teams thinking about the playoff, six teams are still in the Pac-12 title race, eight could still get into the Top 25, and 10 are still thinking about a bowl game. Last weekend’s slate helped us separate the teams, but it also revealed just how many good teams in the conference there are.

And there’s still a lot of football left to be played. Arizona State could test the conference against Notre Dame, Oregon and Utah could be a thriller, and UCLA-Washington could turn interesting. These games could shake up our power rankings again next weekend.
