The College Football Playoff is under pressure from ESPN and the NFL to change its dates, according to the Sports Business Journal.

"On one of those fronts, top ESPN executives are lobbying CFP officials to move next season’s semifinals off of New Year’s Eve where it would compete with highly rated star-filled countdown shows on several networks.Next season’s semifinals at the Capital One Orange Bowl and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl are scheduled for Dec. 31 but ESPN is pushing the CFP to move those games to Jan. 2, 2016, a Saturday with relatively little competition on TV. The NFL’s regular season concludes that Sunday, Jan. 3, and the league hasn’t had a Saturday game during the final week of its regular season since 2007."

The UCF Knights have announced plans to add a beach club section to their football stadium via a link on their official athletics page.

"Members of the ESC will have access to a Florida themed social area, including a sun deck and covered lounge. The ESC will be located between the 30-yard lines on the east side of Bright House Networks Stadium.Amenities include:-A selection of refreshments, including beer and an assortment of frozen drinks-New sideline chairback seats-Gold Zone parking-Preferred VIP entrance into the stadium-More than 15 flat-screen TVs-Enhanced WiFi connectivity-Private restrooms-Pre & postgame access"

North Carolina and Wake Forest have scheduled a home-and-home series for 2019 and 2021 that will technically be considered non-conference games, according to ESPN.com.

"This is the first time two Power 5 teams from the same league have agreed to face each other in nonconference play. The games will not count in the league standings.“This is a unique opportunity to play a regional rival in years that fall outside the normal conference rotation,” North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham said. “We have a long history with Wake Forest that has historical value and will generate interest within our fans.”"

Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long was unanimously re-elected as chairman of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee, according to ESPN.com.

"The College Football Playoff’s management committee named Long the chairman of the selection committee in October 2013. This time, he was voted to continue that role by the other members on the selection committee.As chairman of the committee, Long was and will continue to be the only member of the group to speak publicly. He was tasked with representing the committee on ESPN every Tuesday during the season when the weekly rankings were released."

Offensive lineman and Wake Forest transfer Cory Helms has committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks, according to gogamecocks.com.

"“I had a really good feeling today and wanted to talk to my family and stuff before I made it official,” Helms said. “I have a really good relationship with the players I was around and the recruits who were there. And it’s the closest school to my home.”Helms also considered Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Penn State after deciding to transfer from Wake Forest, where he was a freshman All-American center in 2013. Last season he played some guard along with center, but the Gamecocks like him as a center."

Michigan Wolverines Running Back Justice Hayes has decided to transfer for his final year of eligibility, he announced on his Instagram page.

"The four years I have spent at this institution have brought some great memories that I will cherish forever. The fact that I will be graduating from the University of Michigan in April will be meritorious.I have earned team captain on numerous occasions, won respect from coaches and players, and most importantly played my heart out every Saturday."
