As the Seattle Seahawks get set to play in a second straight Super Bowl, Head Coach Pete Carroll has already entered elite company with his college and NFL accomplishments.

Only three coaches have won college national championships and Super Bowls, and Carroll is one of them. Also, only eight of the Super Bowl winning coaches have even coached at all in college football.

It has been well-documented in the past the struggles coaches face at different levels, but sometimes it is not all fair. The same with quarterbacks in college vs. the NFL, the success of coaches depends on the circumstances of the job as well.

In fact, NFL success is 95 percent dependent on the talent placed around you as a coach and 10 percent what you can do with it. After all, let’s not forget that Carroll was fired himself from an NFL team.

Still, there is something to be said about succeeding at both levels. How do other Super Bowl winning coaches who coached college measure up? Did any of them win anything? How much did they win?

Let’s take a look at how the Super Bowl winning coaches who coached college football rank by their college success.
