Pat Narduzzi and the Pittsburgh Panthers close spring practice with the team’s spring game on Saturday and this is what we’re watching for.

Anyone who predicted James Conner’s results last season please put your hand up? I am guessing most people are in the same boat and thought James Conner would be successful, but to get 1,765 rushing yards was mind-boggling.

Conner established himself among the best backs in the entire country last season, and that was a big reason for the Panthers success in 2014. However this season Conner will have a target on his back and most teams will come into games stacking the box and making quarterback Chad Voytik beat them.

The question will be, can Voytik sustain a performance that will keep defenses honest and keep them from stacking the box. With the help of stud wide out Tyler Boyd running deep over the middle of the field, there is definitely a good chance of that being able to happen.

In 2014 the Pittsburgh Panthers finished with a 6-7 record, but in 2015 they have a chance to be really good with defensive wizard Pat Narduzzi coming aboard as head coach.

Here are some storylines to look for in the spring game.
