College Football Week 1: Eight biggest winners of opening weekend

The first Saturday of the college football season is over and there were some impressive performances but none more important than these.
The moment we were all waiting for came on Thursday night when South Carolina and North Carolina played the first game of the FBS season and set the stage for a great opening weekend of the 2015 season.

After months of preseason rankings, watch lists, scrimmages, transfer rumors and quarterback competitions we finally had the real thing and the games and stats counted and it was everything we’ve been waiting for. We saw breakout performances from true freshmen like UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen or Texas A&M’s Kyler Murray.
There was a big upset of a top 25 team with Northwestern taking down Stanford to start Saturday and it carried into the afternoon where Temple beat Penn State for the first time since 1941. Northwestern and Temple just missed the cut despite their great start, but here are the eight biggest winners of the opening weekend.
