LSU at Alabama headlines a strong slate of Week 10 action. College Football Playoff hopes are on the line and we pick every SEC football game against the spread.

After weeks of lackluster matchups, it’s finally here: LSU at Alabama in the game of the year in the SEC.

Undefeated and largely unchallenged this season, the LSU Tigers are ranked No. 2 in the nation according to the College Football Playoff committee. The Alabama Crimson Tide, 7-1 overall and 4-1 in SEC play, were ranked No. 4 in the land – much to the chagrin of several Big 12 and Big Ten teams.

However, if the Tide gets past LSU in Tuscaloosa, as they are expected to do as a six-point favorite – Alabama will certainly be in the driver’s seat to represent the SEC in the final four – if they get a little help in the form of an Ole Miss loss, that is.

Speaking of the Rebels, an eight-point victory over Auburn gave use an 0-1 start in last week’s SEC picks against the spread, which fell to 0-3 when South Carolina covered against Texas A&M and Georgia was embarrassed by Florida. The evening slate helped soften the damage as Houston demolished Vanderbilt 34-0 and Tennessee blasted Kentucky 52-21, but a second consecutive losing weekend was already in the books.

  • 2015 Straight Up: 49-18 (.731)
  • 2015 Against the Spread: 38-29 (.567)
  • 2015 Over/Under: 38-29 (.567)
  • Last Week Straight Up: 4-1 (.800)
  • Last Week Against the Spread: 2-3 (.400)
  • Last Week Over/Under: 3-2 (.600)

Now 38-29 overall, with a profitable (but barely) 56.7 winning percentage, we take aim at a strong finish to the regular season. With both division titles still up for grabs (but the East likely to be settled this week) and with national championship hopes on the line, we make our Week 10 SEC football picks against the spread.
