The Cornhuskers and the Wildcats enter this week coming off big program wins. Now each team hopes that translates to a successful Big Ten campaign this season…

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are coming off an upset victory over the Oregon Ducks 35-32. Quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. has the Cornhuskers off to a hot 3-0 start.

Armstrong Jr. threw for 200 yards and three passing touchdowns last week as the Cornhuskers got a marquee win already to make their presence known in the Big Ten. Armstrong Jr. also rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown.

The Cornhuskers did enough to escape last week with a victory despite allowing 336 rushing yards to the Ducks. They’ll need to tighten up the run defense this week against the Wildcats.

The Northwestern Wildcats got their first victory last week against the Duke Blue Devils 24-13. They are 1-2 on the season so far.

Quarterback Clayton Thorson threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to the upset victory. It was the Wildcats second straight victory over the Blue Devils.
