Illinois vs Nebraska live stream: Watch Fighting Illini vs Cornhuskers online
Here’s how you can watch Saturday night’s Illinois vs Nebraska game from Lincoln online.
Nebraska might just be turning things around as a program. Just one season ago, the Cornhuskers lost six games by one score and finished the season 6-7. This year, Mike Riley’s team is hoping for different luck, leading Nebraska to a 4-0 record and No. 15 ranking after a nice win over Oregon.
It’s unclear whether Tommy Armstrong Jr. is turning the corner as an elite quarterback. He’s always had potential, but his inaccuracy and questionable decision-making has nearly cost him his job. So far this season, he’s completing 56 percent of his throws for 931 yards and eight touchdowns with only one interception.
Alonzo Moore has been his favorite target, catching 12 passes for 310 yards and two scores. He has been effective in the run game as well, ranking second on the team with 281 yards and four touchdowns. Devine Ozigbo isn’t that far ahead, recording just two more yards and four touchdowns of his own.
Illinois, on the other hand, has gotten off to a sluggish start in the Lovie Smith era. The Fighting Illini are just 1-2 with a couple of blowout losses to North Carolina and Western Michigan. A win over Nebraska would be a nice turnaround to an otherwise ugly start to 2016.
Malik Turner has emerged as Wes Lunt’s favorite target, catching 15 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns. Lunt was expected to be one of the top gunslingers in the conference this season, but he’s averaging just over 220 yards per game through the air. That will need to change in this one.
Don’t expect much out of Illinois’ run game, either. It’s averaging 154 yards per game, but this offense is pass-heavy, it seems.
