After three rough games in the SEC, the Ole Miss Rebels get a non-conference home game against Georgia Southern. Here is how to watch the game online.

The 2016 season has not been what it was believed to be for Ole Miss. Losses to Florida State and Alabama, that was understandable. Losses to Arkansas, LSU and Auburn? Not so much. Now sitting at 3-5, the Rebels are scrambling to even make a bowl game. The killer for Ole Miss has been injuries and youth on the defensive side of the ball, as it has been for many seasons it seems like. The inability to stop the run game is what has killed them, and the fact that all of their losses are to teams that have excellent ground games, reinforces that.

Georgia Southern is a team that could really challenge Ole Miss. The use of the triple option offense, and the Eagles run it as well as anyone, could be a killer for the Rebels even with drastic talent differences between these teams. The Eagles average 239 yards rushing per game, which about what Ole Miss gives up per game, being 239 yards. If Georgia Southern wants to get out of Oxford with a win, it’ll be through a determined and triumphant ground game.

With that said, Georgia Southern might be able to make this a competitive game, but Ole Miss has a more explosive offense that should be able to put up points a plenty on an inferior defense, regardless of what the Rebel defense defense does.
