Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Jordan Evans came up with a clutch interception during Saturday’s game against the Baylor Bears.

Even with two losses, the Oklahoma Sooners are playing like one of the best teams in the country thanks to their impressive offense. However, during Saturday’s game against the Baylor Bears, it was the defense that made the first highlight play.

Late in the first quarter, the Bears were pulling off a great drive and marching down the field. They even got a couple yards away from the goal line when they decided to call a pass. Unfortunately for Baylor quarterback Seth Russell, he made a terrible mistake.

Russell completely missed Oklahoma senior linebacker Jordan Evans when making his throw. Evans was able to jump in front of the pass for the interception, helping the Sooners preserve a 14-0 lead. You can watch the video of the exciting interception from Evans courtesy of ESPN below.

The Sooners were ranked No. 11 heading into Saturday’s game thanks to a 7-2 record with losses to Houston and Ohio State. While it’s not looking likely that the Sooners will wind up in the College Football Playoffs, enough chaos could allow the two-loss team to wind up in the conversation after conference championship games.

Meanwhile, the Bears are struggling mightily in a season where they’re just trying to heal after such a tumultuous time within the program. So far, it looks like Oklahoma is on pace for another blowout victory over Baylor. If they can do that, then they should find themselves climbing the rankings for another week.
