By Kyle Kensing
Tulane safety Devon Walker suffered a horrifying injury in the Green Wave’s Conference USA game at Tulsa, when he collided helmet-to-helmet with a teammate Julius Warmsley on a tackle. Walker reportedly stopped breathing before trainers administered CPR. He was taken off the field in an ambulance and given a trachea tube.
Early reports indicate Walker suffered a collapsed lung and broken neck.
WBRC-TV reporter Rick Karle tweeted Walker is in stable condition in a Tulsa hospital.
Prayers go out to Walker, and more on this story as it develops.
