Paul Rhoads is the reason a road trip to Ames is looked at as a possible spoiler for a Big 12 title contender. Keep in mind how bad ISU was before Rhoads came along. Yes, there was a bowl appearance in 2000 and 2004, but since Rhoads has been the man in charge we talk every single year about the danger the Cyclones can pose to conference opponents.
