Unfortunately, the Huskers don’t get any breaks because they also have to travel to Iowa, the only other Big Ten West competitor. Still, the team is good enough to avoid losing both games, so Iowa will be the win. Nebraska appears to be stuck in being a very good program phase unable to take the next step.

It will look like that after this year as well, with Wisconsin a likely loss and a road game at Michigan State. But there’s a chance for a bigger step this year if the Huskers can beat Miami in the offseason and reach 10 wins, the first time under Bo Pelini.

They still won’t win the division.
