Darrell Hazell’s first year as head coach of the Purdue Boilermakers was obviously a disaster as he went 1-11. It shouldn’t be that bad this year, but there’s not much to look forward to.

    • Playing a lot of young players last year and preparing for the future will help this year, as they might have 3 wins spotted in September. Add Northwestern, Indiana, and Illinois into the mix, and you have a chance for a 4-8 or 5-7 season.

    But that likely won’t happen. This is still the worst team in the Big Ten as Hazell continues to build depth and experience, so not much of an improvement will be shown this year.

    The Boilermakers resume their place as the cellar dwellers of the conference.
