  • That seemed unheard of after such a great start. But Wolverines fans have seen no signs of improvement. The good news is that last year’s 7-6 team was good enough to go 11-1 if it just had a little more experience. That exists this year, and Devin Gardner and Co. should be much better. Those four games that were within a field goal can turn the other way.

Hoke has recruited very well up until this year, and they draw Northwestern and Minnesota from the west, two easy wins. Add Penn State at home in the mix, and that’s another win. This is a 9-3 team this year with Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Ohio State the only three losses.

That’s a good leap from last year that will help with recruiting in the future, and believe it or not, the Wolverines aren’t that far off from that No. 2 spot in the Big Ten this year. But forget about the top spot.
