On the surface, this team is very experienced and finally fully healthy, and the Big Ten as a conference is right now no better than the ACC. But Maryland managed to get the worst draw of anybody in the conference this year. Let’s start with the fact that two of their home games are to Ohio State and Michigan State, which won’t be wins anyway. All the toss-up games, Penn State, Michigan, and Wisconsin, whom they were so unfortunate as to draw from the West, are road games, making them virtually unwinnable.

This is unfortunately a team that will likely go 3-5 in the conference and has to hope for an upset somewhere to do better. And to go bowling it’ll have to run the table out of conference.

Tough draw for a team good enough to be in the top quarter of the conference.
