The Demon Deacons return about half the starters, and Clawson has a track record of struggling his first year. Look at how bad his teams were at Bowling Green and Richmond his first year, and the one year he was offensive coordinator at Tennessee, the Vols had one of the worst offenses in school history.
That’s not to say the future isn’t bright, because Clawson teams always become great once they get settled into his system. It simply takes some time. The Demon Deacons this year will struggle to a 3-9 season and 0-8 in the conference.
But stay patient, and the future looks bright.
