Yes, the top winner of this week’s Blitz Points is Kevin Sumlin. Given the disrespect his Texas A&M Aggies received this offseason, it was obvious people thought the Aggies’ success was just a fad that would end when Johnny Manziel left. Nobody had faith in Sumlin. You can see my article on his track record of being disrespected here. And as he led his Aggies into South Carolina Thursday night to take on the hyped up South Carolina Gamecocks as double-digit underdogs, all he did was outcoach and out-prepare arguably the greatest mind in SEC history. He had his Aggies prepared and did not let any offseason media talk negatively affect them, as the blew the Gamecocks off of their own field. For that, Sumlin earns Blitz Points for finally taking the respect he has deserved for so long.
